Publisher's Description:FreeDiff - FreeDiff is a free file difference viewer for Windows 95/98/ME - Windows 2000/NT/XP.Use it to analyze the changes between two revisions of a file. Note: FreeDiff is not an editor. The differences between files can be viewed but the files can not be modified. FreeDiff can be used to locate the differences in program source code files, HTML documents, and any other ASCII-based text files. A color-coded side-by-side display of the comparison results makes it easy to understand the differences between the two files at a glance. Other file types can also be compared if they are first saved in a text format. For example, MS Word documents and MS Excel spreadsheets can be saved in text format and compared. Two versions of the System Registry database can be exported from within RegEdit and then compared using FreeDiff. Latest User Reviews:FreeDiff 1.2Hi, very usefull toolcompare and merge setupfiles of different release versions. FreeDiff met expectationsInstallation was quick and easy. UI took a minute or two to figure out but fairly intuitive. I was looking for a tool to graphically compare large csv output files and this has met every expectation. Thank you. Crashed my PCAfter installation I loaded up two 57KB XML files to compare. The application crashed with an out of memory error and froze my PC which required a hard re-boot. It appeared to have overflowed into the display driver's allocated memory. Nasty bug! khalid`s commentIt's really helpful. It helped me a lot in comparing two csv files. FreeDiff ReviewNice tool. Worked well for me. FreeDiff does itFreeDiff works quite well and is very easy to use. This program saved me having to read the two revisions simotaneously and look for every slight differences. value for moneySince it's free I'm happy to review it. No problems so far. Great experinceI have acutally used this product before at a different employer and find it to be a very valuable tool. Highly Recommend!Great product for the price! Highly recommend it! Excellent for ASCII File comparisonWhat can I say? Better than DOS compI used this to compare large data files (EPA compliance reports) and found it to be more than adequate, and definitely easier than command shell options. Freedif a quick get up to speed toolI needed to check several files for subtle differences. Downloaded Freedif, pointed to the files., looked at the differences, job done. It took less than 10 minutes. from the time I found a link to the time I as done. does the jobEasy to use and works as expected. Would like to see unicode support rather than ANSI only text files. Great tool!A quick search on the web gave me just the tool i needed in my new job. I wanted to compare files to learn about the new SW I am supposed to maintain. I like the simplicity of the user interface. I am a rather old man (52) so I do not fancy artistic user interfaces where it is difficult to find the right buttons. Just the tool I needed, and it took me about a quarter of an hour from I stareted to search on Google until I had it up running on my PC. Very Useful softwareHi, Cool AppNice, simple app that was the easiest and quickest to set up for what I needed - something that would tell me the difference in the lines of code. Great ProgramEasy to use, accurate, highly recommend to anyone looking for a file difference comparison tool Social bookmarks: RSS:
